Ready for Autumn? Ready for the rain?
Let's get into the studio!

Hi Subscriber -
I'm not sure I am ready for fall, but at least I will be able to
comfortably work in my studio now with the renovation finished. I have
been meaning to share this with you. My studio space used to be the
laundry room when we first moved to this house (1992). Then we moved
the laundry to the furnace room and I worked in a small room with a big
closet that held our camping gear, etc. After the reno, and the removal
of the camping closet, there are now a few more square feet, and I can
step back farther from my easel.
The photos show the Before image with an old dresser and the ceiling
beginning to be taken down; you can see the main electric board with
the gray hatch in each photo. The old fiberglass sink was replaced with
a little stainless steel one from Costco.
The After is when I was beginning to organize. I still don't have a
door and am trying to decide if I really want one ... there is just a
curtain now. If you click on the link below, you can take a short video
tour ... and if you listen closely you can hear our kitty, Hazy,
"talking".

Thank you all who stopped by the show I had all month in August at
Bustin' Out Boutique in downtown
Juneau, and thank you so much to those who bought a painting. It was a
fun space for flowers, figures and lingerie paintings!
For those who were not able to see the show in person, click HERE
to see
the paintings on their own page on my website, and to purchase if you
see one you would like. (If you live in Juneau, please contact me
directly by responding to this email and we can do the transaction in
person, or phone, rather than online.)
One last thing I want to share for this newsletter is about painting on
ACM (aluminum composite material) panels. I bought a sample pack with
panels that included an ACM panel (small - 5" x 7") - from Artefex
.
I tried out the panel one day when the Juneau Plein Rein painters went
out to the Brotherhood Bridge area where the fireweed/glacier/mountain
views are stupendous. To prepare the panel, I underpainted it with an
acrylic Iridescent Gold over the aluminum.

This is the painting from that day. The panel is light weight, rigid &
durable. Have you tried painting on one? I liked it!
Most of you are aware of the Jökulhlaup that occurred on Aug 4. The
bank of the Mendenhall River, where I stood to paint this painting is
probably not there anymore. Sadly, this year's now annual Jökulhlaup
wrought much damage. However, below are two photos of the day we
painted.

Thank you for being here, and for reading my Studio Newsletters!
Just for you, click the button below to go to my website's unlisted
page for the Mendenhall River View painting! And just for you, if you
would like this painting, please let me know and I will throw in the
frame no charge! (Well, my hubby Matt will "throw-in = build" the frame
- he makes the frames and I finish them, so let's chat about the type
and color or stain you would like!)
Click here for the Mendenhall River View painting!
Also, for convenience, CLICK HERE
to head straight to my website, and let me know how everything works
there! Sometimes the loading seems slow, so if you could tell me what
your experience is like, I would appreciate it.
Take good care! Stay healthy and safe - see you in October!
all the best,
Teri
