There used to be, not long ago, a trail at the end of North Douglas Hwy where you could walk out to the beach on the Northwest side of Douglas Island. Now there are "No Trespassing" signs up because it is private property. It was a favorite trail for many, especially painters. This painting was started en plein air on the beach and finished (with a little pink accent) in the studio.
