Juneau's Sheep Creek off of Thane Road, in the summer, with breezes to keep the bugs away, is idyllic! While painting down on the beach, amid the stinky dead salmon, I saw the channel marker "rising up" out of Gastineau Channel as the tide was heading out, and thought to try to paint the grasses and a peek of the channel with the Douglas Island beach and forest on the opposite side.
